Technical Details

Our solution consists of a data warehouse that gathers data from your existing systems.  Users access this data with a business intelligence tool. 

The data warehouse and resulting jail reporting systems enable authorized personnel from the Courts system and Sheriff’s Department to extract information previously unavailable.  This information has proven instrumental in determining if and when actions must be taken to preempt problems, such as overcrowding emergencies, before they occur. 

The National Institute of Crime determined that jail overcrowding is an on-going, ever present problem that must be managed in a systemic way on a permanent basis.  All parties involved, from judges and court administrators, the sheriff and jail administrators, to police departments, prosecutors, and other staff, must work together to manage the problem going forward into the future.  The NIC specifically identified the Criminal Justice Data Warehouse, built by Dataspace, as one of the most effective tools for managing this effort.
